Browser Display Parameters

This page shows the parameters of concern to a web designer on any screen (smartphone or other).

The pixel width is what the BROWSER sees which is virtual pixels whose actual pixel count on the display screen is governed by the pixel ratio.  For smartphones the pixel ratio is greater than 1. The true screen pixel width is obtained by multiplying the pixel width by the pixel ratio and SHOULD equate with the device specification

The pixels per inch value is not only virtual pixels but also virtual inches (on a smartphone).  It may well be true inches on a larger screen.  For the moment it is always 96.  Screen width is pixels/ppi and may well therefore be quite wrong. The Device listing is based on the form of browser encountered - smartphone or computer/tablet.

The User Agent listing is the string from which the above value was extracted.
