Cookies Test Page

This page shows the behaviour of session cookies - which are supposed to lapse when the browser is closed - as against persistant cookies - which are intended to be retained until a specified expiry date is reached.

In practice some browsers (for example Chrome on my Mobo G) retain session cookies for some reason; the only sure method is to clear History from the Chrome menu - but you cannot expect your general users to do this.

The best choice IMHO is to use persistant cookies but set to last only as long as an expected browser session (say 15 minutes).

In this test page the buttons start both a session and a 30 second persistant cookie.  Refresh the page, close and open the page quickly and slowly to see what happens.
